About Kids Ahead
Founded in 1994, Kids Ahead is an afterschool program open to students from Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
Hours of operation are from 2:10pm to 6pm during regular school days of the Guilford County School System. All day care is available on teacher workdays, inclement weather days, and some Christmas vacation days from 7:30am until 6pm.
The program occupies the 200 hall, Gym, Playground and Youth Building of Christ United Methodist Church. Enrolled students that attend Sternberger Elementary are met by our staff and walk across the street to our program. Students that attend other schools are welcome to enroll at Kids Ahead, but transportation is not provided. Students enrolled that attend Kiser Middle School may take the bus to Kids Ahead.
Teachers are dedicated to providing a nurturing small group environment made possible with the low teacher/student ratio.
